Stage 01 / 06 · Entry

A seed takes root.

New ground, new rules, the first real reach upward. This is where confidence gets planted.

Stage 02 / 06 · Working parent

The trunk thickens.

Ambition and family grow from the same roots. The work now is carrying both without splitting.

Stage 03 / 06 · Manager

Limbs spread wide.

You start holding weight for other people. Lead with trust and they grow along your branches.

Stage 04 / 06 · Executive

Full canopy.

Shade reaching the whole grove. Think in seasons instead of days and set the direction.

Stage 05 / 06 · RIF recovery

A hard season.

The wind strips the canopy and it always feels final. What stands underneath is still yours.

Stage 06 / 06 · Retirement

The shape of a life.

Bare branches show every year you grew. Transition with purpose and leave a grove behind.

The six stages

Six inflection points. One guide.

Every career turns on a handful of moments. These are the ones worth having someone in your corner for.

01

Entry into a corporation

03

Becoming a manager

Lead a team for the first time. Build trust quickly, delegate well, and make a real impact.

04

Becoming an executive

Think strategically, inspire other leaders, and drive the direction rather than react to it.

05

RIF recovery

Regain clarity after a layoff, rebuild confidence, and define the next chapter on your terms.

06

Moving toward retirement

Transition with purpose, enjoy what actually matters, and leave a legacy you are proud of.

Beth Carroll

Founder & executive coach

Beth Carroll

For over twenty-five years, I built and led the organizations where people grew their careers. Global services, customer success, education, and support teams inside Fortune 500 companies including Oracle and IBM, and at software firms like PeopleSoft, Varicent, and Dayforce, scaling past 900 professionals across North America, EMEA, LATAM, and APAC.

That put me on every side of the transitions on this page. I hired people into their first corporate role and watched them find their footing. I promoted brilliant individual contributors into management and helped them through the part nobody warns you about. I led teams through acquisitions from both sides of the table, which means I have delivered the hard news and I have been on the receiving end of it.

I coach because the moments that actually changed my career were almost never the strategy decks. They were conversations with someone who had sat where I found myself in that moment. This is the seat I am taking now, for you.

I founded Better You Coaching to bring guidance to every stage of your career. I am building a small cohort of coaches who hold the same standards.

In their words

Results people feel.

“Beth has an eye for talent most executives never develop, and a habit of coaching people into leadership roles before they believed they were ready. Twenty years is long enough to see someone’s real character — she has actually done the work, not just read about it.”
Steve B.Former Software VP · Current Founder
“Beth’s coaching and guidance gave me the tools to successfully deal with a very challenging boss at a real crossroads in my career. Without our coaching sessions, I would have left the organization.”
Julie F.Healthcare COO
“Whenever I am stuck on a hard decision, Beth does not just listen — she helps me think it through until I can see my own way forward. She has given me the confidence to face difficult conversations head on.”

Questions

Before you book.

How long does coaching usually last?

Most engagements run three to six months, long enough to build habits rather than just insight. Some clients change their cadence after that.

How often do we meet?

Typically every other week, with email support between sessions when something urgent comes up.

Is this therapy?

No. Coaching is forward-looking and goal-oriented. If something surfaces that is better served by a therapist, we say so directly.

What makes your background relevant to my situation?

Twenty-five years running global services organizations and working with a wide variety of customers inside Fortune 500, mid-sized, and startup companies means relevant experience hiring, promoting, restructuring, and developing people at all stages of their careers. My background means I have seen many of the exact situations you are facing, not guessing at what the room looks like.

What does it cost?

Packages start with a single session and run up to twelve. You can build yours on the packages page, and nothing is charged until after your free consultation.

What if I am not sure which stage I am in?

That is a completely normal place to start, and it is often the most useful first conversation we can have.
