Working with Rick was great. He’s extremely knowledgeable about jewelry prices and seems very genuine. He gave a free verbal appraisal and the price I sold it to him for was fair. I highly recommend Rick and Door-Cash to anyone interested in selling some jewelry!
Coin value isn’t always just melt value
Every gold or silver coin has a melt value: what its metal is worth at that day’s price. Some coins are worth more than that because collectors want them. Date, mint mark, condition, rarity and demand can all add numismatic value.
Common bullion coins usually sell close to their metal value. Older or scarcer coins can be a different story, which is why we look at each one individually.
Inherited coin collections
If you have inherited a collection, have the whole thing evaluated before you sell any part of it. Complete sets, proof sets in their original packaging and coins in holders can matter more together than apart.
Keep everything together and in its original packaging, and please do not clean the coins. Cleaning can lower a coin’s collector value. If the collection came with jewelry or silver, see our page on estate and inherited items.
We come to you
The collection stays where it is until you decide. Matthew comes to your home, looks through the coins with you and explains what he sees. If you choose to sell, you are paid on the spot. Here is what happens at an appointment.

Coin Buyer FAQs
Still wondering about something? Call or text Rick. He's happy to answer before you book.
Call 623-800-3441Should I clean my coins before the visit?
No. Cleaning can scratch a coin and lower its collector value. Leave them as they are.
What is the difference between melt value and collector value?
Melt value is what the gold or silver in a coin is worth. Collector value is what someone would pay for the coin itself, based on things like date, mint mark, condition and rarity.
Do you buy coins that are not gold or silver?
Our focus is gold and silver coins and bullion. If you have other coins, mention them when you schedule and we will tell you whether we can help.
Do you buy proof sets?
Yes. Keep them in their original packaging.
Can I sell part of a collection?
Yes. You decide coin by coin, and you keep anything you do not want to sell.
My collection is large. Can you still come to me?
Yes. No collection is too large, and it is easier for everyone when it stays put.
